-
- In the curent proposal which I keep changing it is as follows:
-
- CTRL left/right arrow - Move one word left/right
- CTRL up/down arrow - Move to top/bottom of page/frame
- Home - Move to top of doc
- Shift+Home - Move to bottom of doc
- Shift left/right arrow - Move to start/end of line
- Shift up/down arrow - Scroll one screen up/down
-
- I *think* that's what Edith does, Everest works this way. It's quite hard
- to keeop track of all comments here. Let me know if you find this a
- problem.

-
- Why? These simply apply to programs that use paragraphs. In a BASIC or C
- editor this could mean a function definition, etc. Other programs could
- simply ignore this.
-

-
- What's the diff between Append and Add? At any rate, I will find this
- command very useful. Again, if you don't want to you don't have to
- implement this, if you do, please use Shift+CTRL+C.

-
- I agree and added this to my proposal:
-
- Undo - Undo Last op
- Shift Undo - Redo last op
- CTRL Undo - Revert (abandon all changes and reload)
-
- >Abandon is a bad translation from German first made by Pure Software.
- >It should be 'Restore' or 'Reload'.
-
- How about Revert (as in HiSoft editors)?
-
- >The German devlprs came up with Control U when Apple had already

-
- So what shall we do about this? I don't care which it is as long as
- everybody use the same thing.
-

-
- I find Delete makes perfect sense. I notice that you don't in Edith, but
- with a simple Undo or confirmation dialogue this shouldn't be a problem. I
- also think that Delete is fairly standard.
-
- >Contrl + L is de facto for 'Goto Line'. Is it in the standard? <agree>
-
- It's not, but maybe I should add it. It is currently Page Layout as
- suggested by Mr. Papyrus :-)
-

-
- There are many good reasons to revert to CTRL+W, however I don't think the
- German developers will like this.
-
- >I disagree. I think the proposal should have an explanation for each

-
- OK, I will add an explanation to each key. But that is not what I said. I
- meant to say that there's no way each shortcut will make sense to
- everyone.
-
- >I don't know what NKCC is, but Ofir, do you honestly know any decent

-
- I know quite a few - Cixcomm, GEMBench, HiSoft Voice Mail, Two In One,
- Papyrus (I think). I do most of my programming in HiSoft BASIC and I have
- managed to write multi-tasking friendly applications. Of course C is more
- powerful.

-
- I will look at dividing the proposal into application specific topics.
